The Four Seasons" from the East and West, featuring the violin as soloist, all in one place! Since Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" became a big hit in Europe during the Baroque era, the four seasons have been a favorite subject for thematic music, and here is an interesting collection of four of his works. The soloists on DISC 1 are Alessandro Quarta, who has been actively collaborating with jazz musicians and others, and has successfully completed an album of Piazzolla's works as well as a world tour. Vivaldi's expression is impactful, combining a period approach with modern dynamism. The soloist on DISC 2 is Alessandro Quarta, who has performed solo violin and chamber music versions of Piazzolla's "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires," originally performed by the bandoneon, and arranged by Deshatkov, who also recorded the work with Gidon Kremer. Dino De Palma, who is active as a soloist in many parts of the world and also teaches younger students in Italy.German composer Max Richter, a charismatic figure in the post-classical world, has recomposed (recomposed) 25% of the material from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," in which familiar phrases are played with modern chord progressions, creating a pleasant distortion in the listener's senses. The Violin Concerto No. 2 by Philip Glass, a major figure in contemporary American music whose activities range from film music to influences in popular music, is inspired by Vivaldi but uses his own musical language to depict American nature and mental landscapes.
