Description:
The unknown cellist of Rome's 18th century shows his inexhaustible bass world in a brilliant performance by a group of Italian virtuosos! The works of Del Cinque, an 18th-century Roman cello virtuoso whose life story is still unknown, are recorded here by a group of baroque cello virtuosos led by Ludovico Minaj, the younger brother of Riccardo Minaj, who is known for his extensive activities. The sonatas, titled "for three cellos" with two equal cellos and a bass part, all make abundant use of technical passages, such as the high register technique popularized through the virtuosity of the Neapolitan virtuosos from the mid-18th century onwards, and are full of the singing spirit that only an Italian composer could have created. The slow movement is full of the singing spirit of Italian composers, and the entire work is full of surprises. In the "Sonata for two cellos" for basso continuo and solo cello, the bass cello is in dialogue with the other part on equal terms, showing us the fascination of music making in those days.The participation of Simone Valerotonda, who has been active with the talented string ensemble "I Bassifondi," and Andrea Buccarella, whose recordings of Frescobaldi's works with Ricercar (RIC407) and other notable works are increasing, is also encouraging, and brings out the multifaceted flavor of the baroque cello in a vivid way.
