French bassoonist Laura Descourts attracted attention when she won fourth prize in the woodwind category of the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition held in 2019. In this album, she performs a variety of works for cello, piano, and voice on the bassoon, showcasing her superb technique and musicality. Some of the pieces, such as Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata, were arranged by Descourt herself and pianist Quaidar, opening up new repertoire for the bassoon.
