The complete Mozart piano sonatas in six volumes by English pianist Peter Donohoe. This fifth volume contains three sonatas written at different ages. No. 3 in B flat major, K281, was written in 1775, when he was 18 years old. It is full of ornaments and has a light atmosphere, and Donohoe himself added a cadenza in the last movement. No. 13 in B flat major, K333, was written in 1783. It was once believed to have been composed in Paris, but the latest research suggests that it was completed in Linz. It is an exquisite and beautiful work that shows the influence of the works of Johann Christian Bach, whom Mozart respected. No. 15 in F major, K533, was composed in 1787. The first and second movements were completed as a stand-alone work, to which was added Allegro, K494, written two years earlier, and published as a single piano sonata. The work is a masterpiece in which Mozart's creativity is fully demonstrated through the bold harmonic progressions used at the time. Naxos Japan
