Known for his complete works of Bach organ works, a modern-day milestone that reveals the essence of the great organist who shone brightly at the end of the Spanish Golden Age from multiple perspectives, he has also recorded many masterpieces by the great German Baroque organists on the Ricercar label. Bernard Foklur is a world-renowned Belgian organist who has recorded many masterpieces by the great German Baroque organists for the Ricercar label. This time, Foklur faces the Spanish great Correa de Araujo, with whom he recorded some of his works in 1989, in a 4-CD set. The album includes not only Foklur's solo works, but also a number of contemporary works with various orchestras, including those by Inalto, with whom Foklur has often collaborated in recent years. Correa de Araujo, who lived in the same era as Frescobaldi in Italy, Gibbons in England, and Scheidt in Germany, was active in Spain at the end of its golden age, when it was being overwhelmed by neighboring countries and facing the decline of the sun.Although he made his mark in the history of music with the publication of his magnum opus, "The Tiento Compositions, and Practical and Theoretical Lectures for Organ," in 1626, not much is known about him other than that he had a long career as organist in the great city of Seville, despite several court cases, and also held posts in the cathedrals of Jaen and Segovia. However, his organ works are exquisite. However, his organ works have attracted attention for their elaborate counterpoint and dynamic musical development, and many masterpieces have been produced in the course of the revival of old music. Foklur's recording is as good as any of these masterpieces and includes a re-recording of a work recorded in 1989. Foklur makes full use of the best instruments from Spain and his native Belgium, and brings out the best of the old-fashioned sounds. The tracks with a consort of the bajón (dulcian), a wind instrument used in Spain before the Baroque period, and a brass ensemble, which these talented musicians at the forefront of European music, take us back to the Spain of the past with their rich and full sound.
