Korean pianist Jaehyuk Cho plays Chopin. A pianist and organist, he fully expresses the nuances and passion of Chopin's works, while also displaying his brilliant technique, creating a unique image of Chopin. In the Ballades, Chopin's pioneering character pieces, the first is a passionate episode, the second a dramatic contrast, the third a fluid and gentle expression, and the fourth a long epic poem, and each piece's character is carefully delineated and wonderfully performed. The "Piano Sonata No. 3," which is a standout among Chopin's works, will also be performed with fresh charm. Born in Chuncheon near Seoul, Cho Jae-hyuk began piano lessons at the age of five, a rarity for boys in Seoul at the time. After winning many domestic competitions, he went to the United States to study. He attended the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Juilliard School, and earned his doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music. In 1993, he won the Professional Piano New York Recital Series Auditions and made his Carnegie Hall debut.At the same time, he also studied organ and served as organist and music director at several churches in the New York and New Jersey area for over 20 years. He currently resides in South Korea, where he is actively involved in radio programs and concert commentary to bring the appeal of classical music to the people. Naxos Japan
