The second release to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Opus Arte, "Don Giovanni" starring Irwin Schrott. Donna Anna seeks revenge on her fiancé, Don Ottervio, for her father's murder. Giovanni, with his squire Leporello, escapes from his old lover Donna Elvira, who is pressing him for a reconciliation, and also seduces the bride of the wedding feast, the village girl, Zerlina... A lusty nobleman, after having enjoyed all the pleasures he could, falls into hell.... The opera "Don Giovanni" was born from a legend that has existed since the Middle Ages. This video is a reprise of Kasper Holten's famous production, which was premiered to great acclaim in 2014. The highlight of the production is the detailed characterization of the characters, as well as the bold use of projection mapping and the clever use of a revolving stage. Don Giovanni is sung by Irwin Schrott. His performance and exquisite singing are a highlight of this production, as he sings the part of Don Giovanni, who is driven to the depths of despair as a result of his unbridled desire. The three women surrounding Don Giovanni are sung by singers with strong personalities and presence, including Marin Byström as Donna Anna, Milt Papathanas as Donna Elvira, and Louise Alder as Zerlina, and they act and sing in a sparring match with Schrott.Hartmut Henchen, who has a deep knowledge of classical works by Mozart and other composers and is well versed in what makes an opera special, under his baton, depicts with precision and intensity the rapidly shifting psychological patterns of the men and women in this work.
