Description:
The genius behind Vivaldi, as revealed by the gifted Taylor and his colleagues, However, it has become clear in recent years as the work of composers in Venice around 1700 has been uncovered that there are roots to this style as well. Vivaldi's early works are paired with the works of Reale, a violinist three years younger than Vivaldi, who was born around the same time as Vivaldi. He made his debut as a composer at about the same time as Vivaldi and showed great talent. A publisher in faraway Amsterdam published a collection of his trio sonatas entitled "Sinfonia" in 1709, two years before Vivaldi's "Inspiration of Harmony". The music of this composer, whose life remains a mystery, is full of various devices that are reminiscent of the trials and errors of Vivaldi's early years, such as the inclusion of a solo part clearly labeled "cello" in the trio setting to give it a place of spectacular activity. The program is exquisitely arranged with "La folia" by both composers at the beginning and end of the program.The string instruments played by these virtuosos, led by the brilliant Langlois de Swart, who recently released a duo album with William Christie, are all originals from highly regarded makers of the 18th century or earlier. Combined with Taylor's fine bass playing, this is a disc that will make you feel the interest of the "world that nurtured Vivaldi" in Venice at the beginning of the 18th century. Naxos Japan
