The Parisian orchestra "Concert Pasdeloup" was founded in 1861. This album commemorates the orchestra's 160th anniversary by performing works by Berlioz and Ormes, two composers who were associated with the orchestra's founder, Jules Pasdeloup. Auguste Ormes is one of the few female composers whose works have been performed by the Conseil Pasdeloup, especially "Night and Love," which is very popular and was performed regularly throughout her life. The album features "Night and Love and" by Stéphanie Doustrac and Berlioz's "Summer Nights" and the cantata "Cleopatra".
