The young genius Gorini is in his element! The long-awaited Bach is a surprise "The Technique of Fugue" Born in Italy in 1995, studied under Alfredo Brendel, and won the first prize and the audience prize at the 2015 Bonn Beethoven International Competition Filippo Golini made a bold debut on the ALPHA label with "Diabelli Variations" (ALPHA296). His CD debut was followed by "Hammerklavier" (ALPHA591), which was highly acclaimed by Diapason magazine, the BBC, Le Monde, and others. And having received the Borletti-Buitoni Foundation Award for 2020, under its auspices he launched a project to explore Bach's "Technique des Fugues" from many angles and in many different fields. As part of this project, this difficult piece was selected for the third album. Bach faced a series of works that showcase the best of his own compositional techniques with the same neat pianism as his teacher Brendel, and spun the vocal patterns slowly, sometimes with just the right amount of dynamism. The final three-voice fugue is unfinished, but a long silence is added to remind us of its completion.In the booklet, he includes fourteen of his own poems in response to the Contrapunctus, inspired by T.S. Eliot's "Four Quartets," as well as four English haiku of his own compositions that seem to correspond to the canon. It is a big step forward for the project he is leading. Naxos Japan
