Swedish-born female violinist Marin Broman has served as concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, performed as a soloist with the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Nämé Järvi and Daniel Harding, and as a chamber musician with the Nash As a chamber musician, he was a member of the Nash Ensemble and formed the Kungsbacka Piano Trio, named after his birthplace, which has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Philharmonie in Berlin, among others. Simon Crawford-Phillips is active both in Sweden and abroad as a pianist and conductor, and the two have often collaborated, most notably on the critically acclaimed "Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn Works" (DBCD191). On this album, the two perform works for violin/viola and piano written between 1918 and 1921. The works beautifully represent the period from the late Romanticism through Impressionism to contemporary expression. Naxos Japan
