Marian Sava is a Polish composer who studied organ from the age of 14 and composition with Kazimierz Sikorski at the Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw, and since 1966 at the Juszef Elsner Music School, the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy, and the Chopin Music Academy. He teaches organ and music theory. As a composer, he left about 800 works in various genres, mainly organ music. Many of his works are based on the Polish Post-Romantic style of music, using Gregorian chant and traditional Polish material while incorporating fragments of Polish folk songs and hymns. The album contains works written between 1971 and 2005. It offers a taste of the diversity and mighty power of his work. Carson Cooman, who plays on this album, is an American composer and organist who has already published more than 1,000 works. He is also well known for his performances of contemporary works.
