Description:

How the Paris Opera House (Palais Garnier), one of the most famous monuments in Paris, was builtParis Opera House - This opulent and luxurious building has a vast underground cistern that becomes an eerie space populated by monsters once the performances stop. Gaston Leroux's story "The Phantom of the Opera," inspired by this building, has been made into many films and musicals, and has piqued people's interest in the opera house. The time was the Second Empire of France. As part of the remodeling of Paris under the order of Napoleon III, a plan to build a new opera house suitable for the imperial capital was realized. An open competition was held for the architectural design, and the proposal submitted by Charles Garnier, a young, unknown architect, was selected from among many entries. Over the course of 15 years, Garnier completed the new Opera House with its magnificent façade, magnificent grand lobby, and grand staircase that overwhelms the viewer. This film thrillingly depicts the story of the completion of the Paris Opera House, one of the most iconic monuments in Paris along with the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, against a backdrop of historical and cultural events, as if one were reading a high quality mystery.Screenplay: Stefan Landowski Film Director: Patrick Kabua Editing: Francesca Melani Production: François Duprat, Patricia Uthal (Bel-Air Media) Naxos Japan
