Elmira Dalvarova, a Grammy-nominated violinist and winner of Gold Medals at the 2017 and 2018 Global Music Awards, began playing the violin at the age of four. She became the first female concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and has had a spectacular career, performing under such great conductors as Carlos Kleiber. She has also made numerous recordings, including Alfano's works for the NAXOS label, and has released a variety of works from classical music to Piazzolla on several labels, all of which have received high acclaim. Lobanov, who will perform with the orchestra, is a great Russian pianist who once worked with Sviatoslav Richter in a piano duo and was also recognized by and studied with Schnittke as a composer. He has written two operas and many other works in the fields of religious, orchestral, and chamber music. In this album, these two talented musicians perform some of the most famous works of the Romantic era. The romantic Clara Schumann, the calm Brahms, and the tension-filled Franck from the first to the last movement, all display a variety of expressive styles.Lobanov's "Sonata in Six Segments," dedicated to the renowned violinist Oleg Kagan, is a unique work with a series of small pieces of different character.
