A definitive collection of important pieces by the German master, who also greatly influenced Bach's violin music! Westhoff was a German musician born in the same year as Marin Marais. His violin playing was one of the best in the German-speaking world at that time, and he was as famous as Biber, Schmelzer, Walter, and others. After the death of Schütz, he played at the court of Dresden at the end of the 17th century before moving to Weimar, where the teenage Bach, who worked there as a court musician, was also a strong influence on him. He left behind a collection of partitas for unaccompanied violin in which he used a lot of heavy notes, which greatly influenced Bach and has been recorded in many recordings. This is the definitive recording of a compilation of 17th century German violin music made by Plantier, who had experience with Ensemble 415 and Café Zimmermann, with his own ensemble, and is a long-awaited revival of a valuable recording that has yet to be competed. The ensemble's bass players are also talented and the ensemble's 415 members provide skillful support to the ensemble and keep the audience entertained with more than "accompaniment". Naxos Japan
