A series of masterpieces! This hidden masterpiece from the latter years of Ensemble 415's activities is full of the charms of ancient instruments. The program is a collection of large-scale ensemble music that Mozart composed for a music-loving archbishop when he was still in Salzburg, and among them, the Cassation, a work written in his teens, is one of the few that has been recorded. The performance of the Serenata Notturna, in which the timpani plays a unique role and the contrabass plays a solo part, is a great highlight, as is the concertone, which allows the audience to listen to the long development without getting bored at all. The soloists include the talented musicians who will be seen later in the Alpha Collection series, such as Beyer (ALPHA610) of Re-Inconcertie and Plantier (ALPHA621) of Les Plaisirs du Parnasse.
