Description:
Pianist Lars Forkert was born in Germany in 1970. He has already established a certain reputation for his performances and recordings of classical, romantic, and 20th century works, and is currently the music director of the Paris Chamber Orchestra. Recently, he has been playing with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and has released all the piano concertos of Beethoven and Brahms, demonstrating his outstanding talent as a conductor as well. Folkert's new release is a collection of Janacek's piano pieces, which are deeply melancholy and filled with passion. The new release includes Janacek's only piano sonata in two movements, "Premonition" and "Death," as well as "In the Mist," which is full of introspection, and "On the Shady Path," a memorial to his daughter Olga, who died prematurely. In these three works, which are also Janacek's masterpieces, Folkert gives a beautiful and expressive performance, looking into the composer's inner turmoil. Naxos Japan
