Following her highly acclaimed Offenbach aria collection (ALPHA437/NYCX-10039), this second solo release is a collection of English songs from three countries to which she is deeply attached: she was born in Belgium, studied in England, and now lives in France, and sings songs about love in its various forms. The second CD includes works by famous composers such as Britten, Vaughan Williams, and Milhaud, as well as works by Irene Regine Wieniawsca, daughter of the great violinist and composer Henryk Wieniawski, who performed under the name Poldowski, and Patrick Leterme, a Belgian pianist who has performed with DeVos many times. who has performed with DeVos as a pianist. And what a way to end the concert with a masterpiece by Queen. I had discovered the charm of Queen before the opera.I was blown away by Freddie Mercury singing "Take My Breath Away" while playing the piano in Hyde Park.
