The complete collection of flute works by the Doppler brothers is finally complete! Spanish flutist Alimany launched this project to preserve the music of the Doppler brothers, whom he has studied with great enthusiasm for many years, in the form of sound. The latter part of the 12-volume project is a collection of works related to the elder brother Franz. Not only was he a virtuoso flute player, but he was also a renowned opera composer who fascinated his contemporaries. Not only did works based on the melodies of his operas emerge, but many composers dedicated their own works to Franz. Many of them are original works, but some, like Patacic, took their material from Franz's works. All of the pieces are full of superb technique and brilliantly finished, and the skill of the brothers Franz and Karl is evident in their difficult compositions. Naxos Japan
