In the fall of 2020, she teamed up with Il Giardino Armonico to release *Vivaldi, and Beyond* (Alpha624/Japanese release NYCX-10161), which crystallized her passion for period instrument performance in a unique way. Now, before the excitement from that release has even subsided, her next album is set to be released. Titled *Double Concerto* by contemporary Spanish composer Koyi—inspired by the early work *Plaisirs illuminés* (1929) by Dalí, one of the 20th century’s most eccentric artists (which also appeared in the short film *Un Chien Andalou*)—and featuring guest cellist Gabetta, a master of her craft! serves as the title track. From the program selection—which combines representative contemporary Hungarian chamber music with works by the Argentine composer Ginastera—one can glimpse Kopachinskaya’s keen artistic sensibility. Camerata Bern, which also made a striking impression on her album *A Moment and Eternity* (Alpha545/Japanese edition NYCX-10086), delivers outstanding performances—including solo passages—depending on the piece. Their transformation into a group of soloists capable of weaving sounds so fresh and vibrant—something unimaginable from the classic Baroque recordings of decades past—is undoubtedly due to their collaboration with Kopachinskaya, a rare and catalytic soloist.
