The Latvian Radio Choir is one of the best professional chamber choirs in Europe today, and since 1992 has been under the direction of Sigvars Klava and Kaspars Putninš, its music director and principal conductor, and has appeared at music festivals around the world, as well as with renowned conductors. They are an expressive choir that has performed at many music festivals around the world, collaborated with renowned conductors, and visited Japan on numerous occasions. Their 17th album is a collection of Bruckner motets. Some of these works, such as the Kronstorff Mass, were written before Bruckner was about 40 years old, when he was active as an organist and choral conductor in St. Florian and Linz, etc. The composer himself considered these works "immature" and refrained from publishing them, so they have not been performed very often.
