The world premiere recording by Niquet of the first opera by the precocious genius Reinaldo Arn, whose most famous song is "If my poem had wings," which he composed at the age of only 12. Inspired by a book written in Tahiti by Pierre Loti, who was extremely popular for his exotic literature in the French 19th century, this operetta is a pastoral depiction of a Polynesian island. This is the first recording of the operetta by this splendid ensemble, and is accompanied by a bi-lingual English-French booklet filled with illustrations that only Bru Zane can provide. Naxos Japan
