Description:
Adele Chalve, a young mezzo to watch, makes her debut with the support of virtuoso Susan Manov! She has won numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the Verbier Festival Academy in 2017, and has appeared as a guest in Jody DeVos' Offenbach cycle (ALPHA437/Japan: NYCX-10039), in opera houses across Europe, with Le Poème Armoniche and Pygmalion, and in performances of Venvenuto Cellini, conducted by Gardiner. Adele Chalvet, a mezzo-soprano who has been expanding her activities through guest appearances on the "Piano Concerto" (NYCX-10039), performances at various European opera houses, and participation in performances of "Venvenuto Cellini" conducted by Gardiner, makes her debut as a soloist. Accompanied by her close friend Susan Manoff, Adele Chalve performs modern and contemporary American and British songs. Chalvet, who has a strong passion for songs amidst her active career at the opera house, has chosen to perform with Manov on her debut disc, based on their shared memories of their childhood in New York, and has composed a program of American royal repertoire, cabaret songs, and even a few British songs. The program includes American classics, cabaret songs, and even a little side trip to England. You will enjoy the wonderful expressiveness of the music, which brings to mind a variety of scenes from rural America to gospel music in church to the obscenity of a backstreet.
