Description:
ALPHA's special box with a special price! ALPHA's specially-priced special box set that lets you enjoy the sounds of ancient pianos that are close to the sound of the time when they were composed] From the vast catalog released by ALPHA and Zig-Zag Territoires, this 10-CD box set collects important recordings made on fortepianos and historical pianos from the 18th and 19th centuries, which are different from modern pianos and which the composers knew and used. Although the instruments used are quite different from each other, the performers have carefully selected the most suitable instruments for the works performed on each album, and in each album the sound is close to what the composers themselves had heard and known. The performers are all top-notch musicians of the new and old generations, including Immerseur, Lyubimov, Le Sage, Suhodenwirth, Pasichenko, and others, who have embodied outstanding interpretations using historical techniques best suited to each instrument. From the sound of the Walter model that accompanies Schubert's works, to C.P.E. Bach on the harpsichord-like Zilberman model, to Haydn performances that will make you aware of the hidden interest in the music, to the thrill of attacking the very edge of the instrument's specifications in the Pleyel Liszt. This is a well-designed and definitive collection that provides an overview of the variety and depth of historical piano music. Naxos Japan
