Richard Itter (1928-2014), founder of the "Lyrita Recorded Edition" label, actively recorded British music and contributed to the discovery of unknown composers. This is a series of CDs from his valuable collection of BBC broadcasts that he has been air-checking since 1952, using the most advanced professional equipment available at the time, under an official license from the BBC. Beecham, who was a specialist in British music and a friend of Dilius, was also well known for his passion for French music, especially for Meilleur and Grétry, which he is said to have had a strong attachment to.
