The life of Gautama Siddhartha Buddha was transmitted to the Arabic-speaking world through Manichaean writings, and from there to the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic worlds, where somehow Buddha came to be treated as "Saint Josaphat," who awakened to Christianity through an encounter with the old man Balaam and converted despite the anger of his father the king. The Diarogos are a group of Italian and Slavic Catholic priests who are known as "Diarogos. Diargos carefully selects relevant poems from medieval manuscripts in Italy, Slavic-speaking countries, Greece, and other countries, as well as from the narrative songs of southern French bards, and brings out their real images through his unique recitation while using simple medieval musical instruments as accompaniment. The sound of the songs with simple instrumental accompaniment is so beautiful that it takes the listener back to the Middle Ages just to listen to it. Naxos Japan
