The Sklide Piano Quartet was formed by two sisters from Latvia, Baiba Sklide and her sister Rauma Sklide, who have grown steadily as artists since winning the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2001, and are well known for their performances in Japan. The viola is played by Lise Berteau from France, who is well known for her recordings for the ALPHA label, including her participation in a collection of Fauré's chamber works promoted by Le Sage. Cellist Harriet Kreeff is from the Netherlands and has released several solo albums on the Capriccio label, and made a splash during her first visit to Japan in 2018 with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in addition to her recital This 2016 debut with the Schubertiade This is the first time the international quartet has released an album. The quartet's lively expression in the final movement of K478, written in the G minor key in which Mozart excelled in dramatic development, and the emotionally rich ensemble in Brahms, also in the G minor key, whose radical style captured Schoenberg's heart.
