The Gould Piano Trio held four concerts of the complete Beethoven: Piano Trios from 2011 to 2012. The last concert in May was a combination of No. 1, a small Allegretto, and one of his greatest works, the "Grand Duke". Frith played the piano part beautifully, showing glimpses of Beethoven's technique as an excellent pianist. Combined with the beautiful strings, they make a fascinating work in its best form.
