Dufay Gothic Voices, the authoritative ensemble of medieval music sung by Gothic Voices, was founded in 1980 by Christopher Page, a musicologist, specializing in medieval music from the 11th to 15th centuries, and has recorded over 20 albums for the Hyperion and Avie labels. The second Gothic Voices release on Linn Records will feature the Gothic Voices, a group that lived through the transition from medieval to Renaissance music and played a pivotal role in pioneering and transforming the Renaissance. music of Guillaume Dufay (c.1397-1474), a master of the Burgundian school of music. A vocal ensemble of leading singers from the world of English classical music, including mezzo-soprano Katherine King, Julian Podger, who was also a member of the Tallis Scholars, and Stephen Harold, features the world-famous medieval harpist Andrew Lawrence-King. The ensemble also includes medieval fiddles and wind instruments, and sings Dufay's great motets and festive music. Tokyo M-Plus
