The British vocal ensemble Magnificat, led by Philip Cave, has been praised as one of the best performers of Thomas Tallis' 40-voice motet "None other than Thyself" (CKD 233). Magnificat, whose harmonies are an excellent match for Linn's high-fidelity recordings, sings a collection of works for double chorus by the Flemish composer Philippe Rosier (c.1561-1596), who was active in Spain! With a strong partner in the prestigious period wind ensemble His Majesties Sagbats & Cornetts, Rozier's music, performed by a 12-part chorus, instrumental ensemble, organ, and harp, one cannot help but expect a return to Tallis's famous chorus. The result is a kaleidoscope of sound that is the result of a superb collaboration between the "mastery of the Magnificat" and Linn's high-fidelity recordings.Both performance and recording are highly anticipated!
