Wozzeck" by Sebastian Weigle, completed after 8 years of conception by Berg, who saw the play "Wozzeck" in 1914, is a 15-act opera in 3 acts of 5 scenes, each given a different form, with elaborate and calculated music on the theme of raw human sexual exploitation, It is one of the greatest operas of the 20th century. Weigle performed "Wozzeck" at the Liceu Opera in 2006, which was filmed (OPUS ARTE OA0985), and the performance with excellent singers such as Havrata and Denoke and a high-level orchestra was much talked about. This 2016 performance is even more masterful, with a sharp and exciting interpretation that shows Weigle's own 10 years of maturation and the use of ideal singers. Naxos Japan
