The Elias String Quartet, named after the German name of Mendelssohn's oratorio "Elia," was founded in 1998 at the Northern College of Music in Manchester, where they studied with Dr. Christopher Roland, the Alban Berg Quartet, Georges Kurtág, and Henri Dutilleux, The quartet studied with Dr. Christopher Rowland, as well as with the Alban Berg Quartet, Georges Kurtág, and Henri Dutilleux. They have already released a recording of the complete Beethoven String Quartets at the Wigmore Hall, and this time they will perform Schumann's quartets, which they say hold a special place in their hearts.
