Description:
The Ensemble Lalo belongs to the cellist Bernhard Naoki Hedenborg, who has been in the spotlight recently. The ensemble is known for its aggressive performances and active concert schedule in Japan. This time, the ensemble will focus on Enesco and Bartók, two Eastern European composers who are particularly strong in their field. As the title "Romanian Rhapsody" suggests, the program features works with a rich nationalistic flavor. Enesco's "Romanian Rhapsody" was originally composed for orchestra, but this album features a version arranged for piano quartet by contemporary composer Thomas Worley.
