Masters Brass Nagoya pursues "tradition and innovation" under the guiding concept of "enjoying music". Founded in 2016 with Tatsuya Suzuki as Music Director and conductor, the band brings together orchestral players, music-college teachers and freelance musicians from the Tokai region, and has won a following not only among wind band enthusiasts but among classical listeners generally. This CD is a live recording of the band's 4th subscription concert, given on 30 April 2018 in the Grand Hall of the Kariya City Cultural Centre. It features three of Jan Van der Roost's most popular works. The appeal of Van der Roost's music lies in a structural sense and a sustained line rooted in the history of Western music, and Tatsuya Suzuki draws the very best from his players throughout.
