Kebab Johnson’s self-produced debut album—a symbol of their early days—is finally available on vinyl! “Zatte Kogu,” the album that marks the beginning of Kebab Johnson’s journey as they continue to make their unique mark on the Tokyo indie scene, is finally being released on vinyl!! Formed in Tokyo in 2005, Kebab Johnson is a four-piece rock band consisting of Masahiro Sugiura (Gt, Key, Vo), Yu Hashimoto (Ba, Vo), Noriaki Saito (Dr, Cho), and Shinichi Sato (Gt, Cho). Based primarily in Tokyo, they have released five CD albums and one 7-inch single to date. This album, *Zatte Kogu*, was an independently produced record by the original lineup, created during a transitional period marked by members leaving and joining the band. It was completed through repeated recording sessions at the Doing rehearsal studio in Shinjuku’s Golden Gai and at the members’ homes. Featuring signature tracks that have been performed since the band’s early days—such as “In the Spirit of Gillespie” and “My Brain’s Stiffening”—this masterpiece encapsulates the essence of Kebab Johnson, with its diverse musicality—spanning rock, Latin, soul, and folk—flowing freely throughout.
