The modern soundscape where the sensibilities of Yoshitoku Sunahara, LEO Imai, Kenichi Shirane, and Seiichi Nagai blend together is set for release on the highly anticipated analog record! TESTSET was born when Yoshitoku Sunahara and LEO Imai, former members of the supergroup METAFIVE (conceived by Yukihiro Takahashi in 2021), formed a special lineup with Kenichi Shirane (Dr.) of GREAT3 and Seiichi Nagai (Gt.) of Theory of Relativity. The quartet performed together at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '21. This second album maintains the robust groove cultivated in their previous work while presenting an ambitious effort that allows each member's individuality to shine through within a simplified structure that streamlines the sound. Through meticulous sound design and organic propulsion, each track offers distinct expressions and shifting landscapes. As the title suggests, ideas dissolve like mist, fusing 80s new wave, 90s techno, and post-2000s sophistication into a contemporary alternative work where maturity and experimental spirit coexist.
