The Original Soundtrack for the Latest TV Anime Series, *Ghost in the Shell* Is Set to Be Released! Ever since Masamune Shirow first published the original manga in *Young Magazine Special Edition: Pirate Edition* (Kodansha) in 1989, the franchise—led by director Mamoru Oshii’s *GHOST IN THE SHELL* (1995), the *Ghost in the Shell* series has continued to amaze and inspire audiences worldwide through a diverse range of works, including animations and Hollywood live-action films. The release of the original soundtrack for the latest installment in the series, the TV anime *Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL*, has been confirmed! The music director is Taisei Iwasaki, who won the Japan Academy Prize for Best Music for the film *The Dragon and the Freckled Princess* and also composed the music for the currently in-theaters film *TOKYO Taxi*. In addition to Taisei Iwasaki, the music team includes Ryo Konishi—who serves as music director for the opening ceremony of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and has produced music for numerous theatrical films and TV dramas, as well as for artists such as Chara+YUKI, Mrs. GREENAPPLE, TOMOO. The soundtrack will be released in two formats: a 2-CD set and a vinyl edition (2LP). The CD and vinyl album covers feature newly drawn illustrations by tarou2, supervised by Science SARU.
