Pavements' new best-of album "Hecklers Choice" and the soundtrack of the band's biographical film "Pavements" are now available on CD/LP! The two LPs will be released in a special set that includes the two titles on an imported LP (with Japanese obi)! Pavements is a legendary band in the U.S. alternative and lo-fi scene, and has a large number of fans not only in the world but also in Japan, as they reunited in 2022 and toured Japan the following year in 2023. With the recent release of the biographical film "Pavements," fans have been wondering what is in store for the band, and Matador Records has released the soundtrack to the film and a new best-of album, "Hecklers Choice. Pavements is a five-piece band consisting of Mark Ibold, Spiral Stairs (Scott Kamberg), Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, and Steve West.One of the most beloved bands to emerge from the American underground in the 1990s, the band released five era-defining albums, "Slanted & Enchanted" (1992), "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" (1994), "Wowee Zowee" (1995), " Brighten The Corners" (1997), and "Terror Twilight" (1999), five era-defining albums before disbanding in 1999. Pavement reunited in 2022, headlining Primavera Sound and playing sold-out multi-night shows in Los Angeles, New York, and London; in 2023, the band toured Japan for the first time in 13 years, playing two shows in Tokyo and one in Osaka. It is hard to believe, but here we are at last. Sold-out reunion shows, gold discs, and a critically acclaimed feature film. The treasures from Stockton, California, are back on the throne. But many still wonder, "Who the hell are they?" Many are still wondering, "Who the hell are they?That's why Matador Records is releasing "Hecklers Choice," Pavement's second best-of album. When the last best-of album, "Quarantine the Past," was released in 2010, not even TikTok existed. The newly woven tracklist includes songs that have since become viral hits (such as "Harness Your Hopes"), but also includes classic songs that have remained a staple on playlists and mixtapes for generations. The soundtrack to the film "Pavements" was edited by producer/editor Robert Greene and band and includes various elements of the film - snippets of dialogue, scenes from the Academy Award-worthy fake biopic "Range Life," a jukebox, a musical "Slanted! Enchanted!" musical, as well as live and rehearsal recordings from the 2021 reunion tour.The full band performance was mixed by Bryce Goggin, who has worked on such Pavement classics as Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, Wowee Zowee, and Brighten the Corners.
