The Pixies

In commemoration of the US Rock scene's heavyweight Pixies' Japan tour, four classic early albums are being re-released all at once! Four early albums by the Pixies, a leading band in the US Rock scene, will be re-released to commemorate the band's visit to Japan! With their first album, "Surfer Rosa," produced by Steve Albini, the Pixies established a unique style that encompassed stillness and movement, humor and madness. Their second album, "Doolittle," combined pop melodies and artistry, propelling them from cult status to the core of the scene, and their third album, "Bossanova," took them in a new direction, incorporating surf rock and cosmic themes. Then, with their fourth album, "Trompe Le Monde," released in 1991, the Pixies embodied innovation and radicalism in a challenging and highly accomplished body of work just prior to the band's breakup. Each of these four albums has a different appeal, but they are truly a monumental catalog that has had a decisive influence on alternative rock since the 1990s! The definitive albums that pioneered the forefront of alternative rock! A revolutionary album that marks the pinnacle of the Pixies' evolution! Trompe Le Monde", the fourth album released in 1991 by the Pixies, the most important band that led the early US alternative/grunge movement, is a revolutionary work that marks the peak of their evolution. The overwhelming dynamism created by the sharp guitar riffs and meticulously constructed arrangements took the band's experimentation and aggression to the extreme, while acquiring a more refined sense of scale. Songs such as "Planet of Sound" and "Alec Eiffel" combine wild impulses and pop hooks at a high level, and the band's brilliant cover of the Jesus & Mary Chain classic "Head On" has become a symbolic masterpiece of the album. This album, which leapt from being a darling of the indie scene to becoming a symbol of alternative rock, largely defined the direction of rock in the 1990s, and continues to exert an enormous influence on artists in later generations.
