From East Chichibu to the world. Ajate, an Afrobeat + festival music + bamboo instrumental trance dance music band, has completed its third album. The band has been touring France continuously since their second release "Abrada" in 2017. The band has earned the immense respect of the emerging local label, 180G, and has captivated the sharpest music lovers and dance music enthusiasts in the region from the brain to the toes. Ajate is set to perform at a French festival in the summer of 2020 that will also feature Ben Harper, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Pat Thomas, the living embodiment of Ghanaian highlife. This third album, produced after a member change, an intensive training camp in their home village of HigashiChichibu, and energetic live performances mainly in Tokyo, is not a "mere" album, but a full-fledged dance album, including the wonderful artwork.The spacey bamboo xylophone tones and looping rhythms that flow out from the very first song and create a trance-like atmosphere are perfect for Afrobeat~Mandepop lovers, but it would be a shame to leave them alone to dance! It would be a shame to let them dance alone! The Africanized groove is infused with a rich musical flavor by Japanese drums, self-made gongs, bamboo xylophones, and bamboo flutes, and the bizarre and rhythmical lyrics are sure to get you excited. Personally, I recommend the catchy and funky fifth track, "MAMMAMELIE," with its taiko solo and guitar riff reminiscent of the Ghetto Brothers.
