The first six albums by the all-female band *Malaria!*, which took the turbulent West Berlin music scene by storm in the early 1980s, are being reissued all at once! The debut album by *Malaria!*, the most distinctive and successful all-female band in 1980s Germany, is being reissued for the first time since its 1981 release! Gudrun Gut and Bettina Kester, both core members of the predecessor band *Mania D*, formed *Malaria!* in pursuit of a new sound. With their music swirling with restlessness and passion and defying conventional norms, their songs truly capture the unique and unsettling atmosphere of West Berlin at the time. This mini-album was produced as a trio, featuring drummer Christine Hahn—who would later become a full-fledged member—as a guest. It features the original version of “Your Turn to Run”—known as one of Malaria!’s signature songs—making its CD debut, along with newly added live recordings from that era. This reissue project, conceived by SuezanStudio, began in 2025 but was unfortunately put on hold following the passing of Bettina Kester in March 2026. However, the project was resumed in collaboration with another founding member, Gudrun Gut, and has now been successfully realized. Featuring the latest 2026 digital remaster, this limited-edition release comes in a paper sleeve that reproduces the original album’s design—an exclusive release in Japan!
