Black Vunyl is proud to announce the re-pressing of the analog version of the first album released by London city-pop band PREP in 2020, now available in Japan with obi! PREP, the long-awaited first full-length and self-titled album from PREP, a four-piece city-pop band from London that has exploded in popularity, especially in Asia, despite only releasing an EP, and has made two high-profile visits to Japan, including Summer Sonic 2019. Years in the making and finally completed, the album is a perfect representation of the band as a whole, while at the same time reflecting their diverse backgrounds. Their artistic flair is second to none with names like AlunaGeorge, GeorgeFitzgerald, Kasabian, and Celeste, all of whom PREP members have worked with over the years. The first single "PicturesOfYou," a long-distance romance with elements of funk, soul, and pop, and the second single "OnandOn," which begins as a romantic, slow love song and transforms into a heartbreaking track about thinking of someone else by making effective use of synths. The second single, "OnandOn," is a mellow and nostalgic song that starts out as a romantic, slow love song, but transforms into a heart-wrenching track about someone else with the effective use of synths, Mac DeMarco, and others, and creates a funktronic, synthetic, and exciting sound. The band has been active since 2015, and since their debut in 2016 as an unidentified band, they have steadily gained a following for the quality of their music and addictive live performances, and their first album shows their maturity as a band.
