Debut album to commemorate the idol star, including the biggest hit "It's My Party" (Tearful Birthday Party), which reached #1 in the U.S. in 1963. Produced by Quincy Jones. This important album played a fundamental role in the success of both artists. An idol singer from New York who was active from the early 60's to the mid 70's and especially popular in Japan. Although her best of albums have been released in Japan several times since the analog era, for some reason, more than 10 of her solo albums have never been released on CD. The secret of how everything worked out for the then 16-year-old newcomer Leslie Gore, including the arrival of the era of teen idol singers and a sound that brought Motown and other beats to the forefront, is here. This is the first Japanese CD release of her long-awaited and memorable debut album. It's My Party" (Tearful Birthday Party), her first No. 1 hit in the U.S., was also the first song for Quincy Jones, who produced the album, and served as the foundation for her career. The album, which also included "Judy's Turn To Cry," which reached No. 5 that year, proved to be one of the most influential albums in the music industry in the early 1960s. The album not only features hit songs, but also other cover songs, and in some places we can see Ichirin, who was originally an aspiring jazz singer. The album includes a bonus track, "Danny" (by Paul Anka), the B-side of the first single, "It's My Party," which has never been released on LP. Commentary: Yutaka Kimura
