Description:
Second album by the British R&B band that also included Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker! This disc contains all songs (M-1 to M-12) from the second album released in November 1965, plus two bonus tracks from the aforementioned Decca anthology "R&B" (Tommy Tucker's popular song M-13, which was also in the repertoire of George Fame, and Bond's original M-14). The album is a collection of two songs from M-1 (by Don Kirkpatrick & Kevin Knox), the title of a 1964 album by American jazz organist Jimmy Smith, who was also influenced by George Fame. James Brown also played his own organ on "Grits & Soul" (1964/Smash), and the song was also cut as a single under the name of James Brown & His Orchestra, and it is the opening number that symbolizes the mod boom of the same period. Commentary: Masaru Konishi
