Description:

Music critic Toyo Nakamura passed away in 2011. This year marks the 13th anniversary of his death. This 3-CD set is the second in a series designed to remind as many people as possible of the work left behind by Nakamura Toyo. The legendary trilogy that has long been a favorite of world music fans has been reissued in a 3-CD set. It was 1986 when "The Truth About Popular Music" (Music Magazine), a classic book that no popular music fan has not read, was published. At that time, two sets of two LP albums appeared as a "secondary listening record" instead of a "secondary reading book. Of course, just like the contents of the book, these albums are the ultimate in their ability to contain an inexhaustible array of historical masterpieces from all over the world's great popular music. In 1990, Nakamura Toyo reissued them on three CDs. This time, more songs were added, and the content was transformed to be even more profound. This 3-CD set is a reissue of the 3 CDs from that time (sold separately at that time). What is wonderful is the selection and the order of the songs. The selection of historical masterpieces in each field is a testament to Nakamura Toyo's extensive study of music from all over the world. The collection includes not only historical masterpieces, but also epoch-making works in each genre. What is even more impressive is that, despite the wide variety of music from different parts of the world, it is easy to listen to them all at the same time. The charm of Nakamura's compilation lies in the fact that it makes you imagine a mysterious connection between each piece of music, a so-called "red thread" in popular music. Nowadays, it is not so difficult to create an album containing a wide range of popular music from around the world by searching for sound sources on the Internet. However, there are not many people who can take such a wide variety of music and search for the "red thread" that connects each of them, while at the same time creating an album with a clear aesthetic. In that sense, this is definitely a "must-have" for world music. This is a set of three albums that should be treasured and listened to as "family heirlooms.
