Description:

Here comes the previously unreleased recordings of violin prodigy Jeanne Gauthier! The explosive performance of Menkon, Vitali's "Chaconne" with Dreyfus, and Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2 (1st & 2nd movements) as the French Trio! The Spectrum Sound's popular "Bel-Arm" series is being made available on disc under license from the Institut National d'Audiovisual (INA). This album features previously unreleased recordings of Jeanne Gautier, a violin prodigy born in France! Gautier was a child prodigy. After graduating from the Paris Conservatory, in the mid-1910s, Gauthier was active internationally and gained immense popularity. After the war, in the 1950s, he formed the French Trio with Geneviève Joie on piano and André Lévy on cello, and actively performed chamber music as well as solo. Mendelssohn with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio Lyrique, conducted by Pierre-Michel Le Comte. This dynamic and imposing live performance is a must-see! The tempi of the first and third movements are fast for a performer of his time, and the second movement is the most beautiful of all. The second movement is beautifully played, and you can't help but fall in love with Gauthier's unique singing style.Kreisler and Vitali with the virtuoso Huguette Dreyfus are also a must-see. It is rare to hear these works performed on harpsichord, but with Dreyfus, the two instruments are on equal footing, and a lively exchange takes place from beginning to end. The first and second movements of Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2. The performance by this group, which is composed of the best players of France at that time, is exceptional, and one can enjoy Schubert's beautiful and exquisite music. The release of this album is of great interest to Gauthier, who has made few recordings in spite of his long performance career. Japanese commentary is not included. King International
