Marie has long been based in Bristol, UK, and has collaborated with Camera Obscura and Rachel Dad since the early days of her career. She is a rare talent whose vocals have been compared to those of Devendra Banhart and Vincent Gallo. Her latest 2026 album, *Halage*, is now complete. While retaining the introspective mood of her previous album, *AgeFleuve*, this powerful new work—led by the singles “PeauxMiroirs” and “BrillerDansLaNuit”—features prominent electronic beats and synths, more clearly emphasizing a sense of the present and physicality. Clara Luciani, Yasmine Hamdan, David Nunwami, and Eda Dias appear as guest artists. The album title, *Halage*, means “tugboat” or “towing.” With this new release, Marie seamlessly blends vocals, synthesizers, and organic percussion, inviting listeners into an unknown sonic utopia that lies “beyond” dream pop and folk-electronica.
