A new work from the up-and-coming electronic duo Kaleida, whose debut track was hooked up with "John Wick" and has attracted a lot of attention. Produced by Johan Hugo of Very Best and featuring collaborations with Other Lives and Robot Koch of Jacuzzi, this is a full-length work that refines the contrast between stillness and movement. Kaleida is an electronic unit consisting of singer Christina Wood and keyboardist Cicely Goulder, who debuted in 2013 and whose early songs have surfaced in films such as "John Wick" and "Atomic Blonde". The band has recruited producer Johan Hugo, a member of Radio Crit - Very Best and a producer who has worked with M.I.A., Self Esteem, Skepta, Barba Maar, and many other well-known artists. The dance beats are floor friendly to the max, including "Hollow," which has been remixed by Hot Chip's Joe, the dark gothic four beat number "Seagull Nun," and "Stranger," which has a fresh electro rhythm.Down-tempo songs such as "Choices," a collaboration with Robot Koch, "Generation," "Kilda," and the epic, lyrical, and profound final song "Don't Turn Me Out" (featuring the popular US indie band Other Lives) are also superb. While maintaining Christina's overwhelming vocals, the contrast between stillness and movement has been refined, and the album's presence as a whole stands out even more than before.
