This is a remastered reissue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of South America's greatest treasures, which has long fascinated many diggers by mixing influences from British rock such as early Deep Purple and Eurya Heap with traditional elements from their native Bolivia to create a completely original symphonic style. This is a great record that offers a miraculous match between Andean music and progressive rock. Wara is a Bolivian band from South America that started its activities in the early 1970s, led by guitarist Carlos Dasa and vocalist Nathaniel Gonzalez. The band is still active and continues to play today, with repeated member changes.The band's name "Walla" means "starlight" in Aymara, one of Bolivia's official languages. El Inca" is their first album released in 1973. While inheriting the classic British rock style reminiscent of Deep Purple and Euria Heep in their early days, the band's unique mix of folklore, cumbia rhythms, traditional South American elements, and Indian melodies, all of which are suddenly inserted into the album, makes for a unique rock experience. The unique mixing of these elements has made this album a treasure that has long captivated diggers across the boundaries of rock and world music. This remastered reissue commemorates its 50th anniversary.Released on the Spanish discovery label Guerssen.
