Description:
The first compilation of the work of Daniel Van Garde, who composed many of the hidden gems of French disco in the late 70s, including Yamaski, a well-known name in the rare groove scene, is now available on the renowned Paris-based Bico's Music label. Daniel Van Garde is a French songwriter/producer who worked with Belgian composer Jean Krueger to produce many disco works in the 1970s. He is also the father of Thomas of Daft Punk. One of his best-known works is Yamaski, which was reissued by Finders Keepers and came to light as a rare groove classic in the 2000s. Starbow's "Voyager II" is another space disco classic that has long been a favorite of cosmic DJs. Black Blood's "Aie a Mwana" was also covered by Bananarama. Hoo's Who's Who's "Palace Palace" was released as a single in Japan. This is the first release of a collection of cult disco classics on the Zagora label he started in the early 70s.Some of them are of a quality that is comparable to that of the US artists of the same era, some have a strong local flavor, some are melancholic or exotic, some have a unique sense of melody, and some are just laugh-out-loud funny (M(7)). You can enjoy the unique disco variations of France.
